HAI Bus Education Tour

Kimberly-Clark (KC) is very focused on helping hospitals reduce HAI’s within their facilities. The company does that through a number of initiatives which include Trusted Clinical Solutions (i.e. products they manufacture), web-based education, partnering with organizations like the CDC and the HAI Bus Visits.

The HAI Bus provides mobile education, therefore allowing healthcare workers the opportunity to take online courses and receive continuing education credits for these courses free of charge. This mode of education provides a number of benefits, including: no travel required by the healthcare worker; no cost to the facility; and accredited programs on a host of HAI topics that can be applied immediately by the healthcare worker within their hospital.

On September 24, the KC HAI Bus made its first appearance in Canada at Southlake Regional Health Centre. This event went on to become one of the most successful of its kind in North America. Over 55 healthcare workers took a computer-based training program, including the final test with over 14 different topics being chosen. We received positive feedback from those who participated. In fact, the program was so successful that the CEO of Southlake personally came by to congratulate the team on a job well done.
