CDA Webinar Series – Call for Abstracts

As most jurisdictions in Canada restrict travel and large in-person events to slow the spread of COVID-19, the CDA is preparing a webinar series to keep the community connected and continue sharing good practices in dam safety. We invite the dam community to submit abstracts of on-line presentations for consideration no later than August 14.

About the Webinar Series
Canada’s geographic diversity leads to water control structures and tailings facilities that are not only unique but also technically challenging. The Canadian Dam Association is looking to showcase projects from coast-to-coast through a series of technical presentations. Recognizing that Canadians can learn from the experiences of others, international projects will also be considered.

We anticipate hosting webinars every three to four weeks starting in mid-September. Webinars will be one-hour in length. Presentations will be no more than 40 minutes to allow for an interactive component.

Suppliers to the dam industry are included in this invitation to submit abstracts; however, product or service presentations must be embedded in a case study that clearly demonstrates the significance of the product and/or technology. A representative of the dam owner in the case study must be a co-presenter.

How to submit an Abstract
Individuals must complete the Call for Abstract form (that can be downloaded from the CDA website) no later than August 14.

Please note the following:
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and can be submitted in either English or French; and Presenters must confirm that owner/client approval has been received.
