Ontario amends construction regulation of Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act

ADecision Notice was posted on Dec. 18, 2017 to the Ontario Regulatory Registry regarding the amendment of the Construction Regulation (Ontario Regulation 454/96) under the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA). The amendment to the Construction Regulation became effective Jan. 1, 2018. It removesthe requirement for separate Minister’s approval under the LRIA for certain types of alterations, improvements and repairs to existing dams in cases where there is an agreement between the ministry and a qualified dam owner.
