Draft Tailings Dam Breach Analyses Technical Bulletin Issued

The Canadian Dam Association is pleased to announce that its newest Technical Bulletin Tailings Dam Breach Analyses is available in draft format for review for members in good standing. Members can either review it through the CDA online library or download a copy from the Documents for Review Members Only page.

To view the Bulletin, please ensure you are logged into your profile through the CDA website.

While this draft document has already undergone an extensive review process, if you have any feedback on this draft version, please send an email to management@cda.ca no later than October 5.

The CDA anticipates this new guidance document will be officially released in the fall.

Please note that while the draft document is in English, the Bulletin will also be translated into French.

The CDA would like to thank Mohammad (Mamun) Al-Mamun of Tetra Tech, Violeta Martin of Knight Piésold, the Mining Dams Committee and the numerous individuals who contributed to this document.

Can’t access the Bulletin?
If you are unable to gain access to the draft Bulletin either through the online library or the Documents for Review Members Only page, it likely means your membership expired on June 30 and needs to be renewed. To renew your membership, go to “my participation” in your profile and you’ll find your outstanding membership invoice.

If there is no outstanding membership invoice in your profile, then you can purchase a membership through the CDA Shop. Membership is $90 and is valid until June 30, 2021.
