Register Now for the Canadian Water Resources Association Workshop

Registration is now open for an upcoming Canadian Water Resources Association workshop Climate Extremes:  National Collaboration on Floods and Drought to be held in Ottawa on January 27. 

Come and be part of the discussion on how to collaborate on flood and drought issues. Expert technical and policy speakers include:
 
Robert Sandford, EPCOR Chair on Water an Climate Security and United Nations University
Émilie Lagacé , EU Water Framework
Environment and Climate Change Canada (flood and drought monitoring and data service)
FloodNet (NSERC funding reviewing flood issues in Canada, flood forecasting and warning and risk analysis of physical, socio-economic and environmental impacts of floods)
Public Safety Canada and NRCan on the flood mapping and disaster financial assistance programs (DFA).
Drought panel speakers include: Paul Lehman, GM from Mississippi Valley CA in eastern Ontario, CWWA to provide the municipal perspective and a representative from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.  

Many other well-known water experts conducting research on climate change, floods, droughts and water governance will be in attendance.

The workshop will conclude with a discussion on collaboration between levels of government, agencies, academia and other stakeholders on ‘Global Water Futures: Integrating Flood and Drought Forecasting in Canada’.
