Dam Safety Reviews Workshops

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The Canadian Dam Association will be hosting a series of workshops across Canada to provide training on conducting Dam Safety Reviews (DSRs).

This workshop will present the concepts and process developed in the recently completed Technical Bulletin on DSRs.  A case study will be introduced and attendees will work through how to scope a dam safety review, how to work through the hazard-failure mode-control aspect of the safety analysis, and how to present the findings of a dam safety review.

The workshop is aimed at dam owners, consultants and regulators who want to know what the Canadian Dam Association considers to be good practice for Dam Safety Reviews.

Planning for workshops in different provinces is well underway, including Ontario in February/March and British Columbia in October. Discussions are underway regarding Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Check the CDA website weekly for updates on workshops planned for your area.
