CDA Booth Brings Community Together at Saskatoon Conference

The energy at CDA's booth during this year's conference was exactly what we hoped for—authentic conversations, new connections, and a genuine sense of community building.

Over two dynamic days, our booth became the heart of member engagement. Committee chairs and board members didn't just staff a table; they created a welcoming space where meaningful exchanges happened naturally. From discussions about international initiatives to career conversations with industry leaders, every interaction reinforced why our dam safety community is so special.

The highlight? Tuesday's Industry Leaders session, where Michelle Sturby (SaskPower) and Glenn Kenke (Saskatchewan Hydropower and Dams) shared their journeys with eager students and young professionals. No PowerPoints, no formality—just real talk about real careers. The YP Committee's facilitation made it feel more like a coffee chat than a conference session, exactly as intended.

Our daily membership raffle added buzz to the booth, with [NUMBER] badges swiped and excitement building throughout. The winner of the free one-year membership will be announced in next week's newsletter—stay tuned!

A Community Effort

This success story was written by many hands. Thank you to every committee chair who took a shift, every board member who engaged with members, and especially to Michelle and Glenn for inspiring our next generation. The YP Committee's enthusiasm was contagious, and Evoque's behind-the-scenes support kept everything running smoothly.

Most importantly, thank you to every member who stopped by, asked questions, and reminded us why these connections matter.

The booth proved something important: when we create space for genuine interaction, our community shows up. Here's to more conversations, more connections, and seeing you at the booth next year!
