Ideal for professionals with a limited understanding of how dams work and those new to the field of dam safety management, this ACB course provides an introduction to the different types of dams, how they work, and how to identify and mitigate potential risks. Participants will also gain a better understanding of key roles and responsibilities. More specifically, participants will discover:

  • typical components of a dam;
  • the operation of embankment, concrete and mining dams;
  • possible risks and ways to mitigate them;
  • the importance of dam safety management and how to develop a plan.
