Douglas C. Brauer, Ph.D., Vice President Economic Development & Innovative Workforce Solutions Richland Community College, Decatur, IL

Wednesday, May 20, 2015 ˜ 2 pm - 3 pm Eastern

Our May webcast builds on the topic of our April 2015 webcast with Scott McDonald of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). In that webcast, we discussed the carbon capture and storage project at ADM’s Decatur, Illinois facility, part of the Department of Energy’s Regional Carbon Sequestration Initiative. Carbon dioxide is captured, compressed, and transported via pipeline and then injected deep underground into the nearby Mount Simon Sandstone shale formation.

The Decatur project’s unique partnership includes Richland Community College, which has successfully developed and managed community education and outreach to cultivate public acceptance and promote understanding that CCS technologies safely reflect the best interests of the community.

Join us as Dr. Brauer shares information on the strategy and tactics resulting in effective educational outreach to over 3.4 million people since 2011
