Astec Safety’s Ground Disturbance 201 training courses, both online and classroom, have been approved by Alberta Environment & Parks’s (AEP) Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). Their Ground Disturbance 201 classroom course has also been accorded CEU credits in Saskatchewan by the Saskatchewan Operators Certification Board (SaskOCB).

In addition to their ground disturbance training, all three levels of Astec Safety’s Confined Space Entry course have been accorded CEUs in Alberta by AEP and the first two levels have been accorded CEUs by SaskOCB in Saskatchewan.

Each of Astec Safety’s approved courses is worth 0.6 CEUs in Alberta. In Saskatchewan, their confined space courses are worth 0.7 CEUs and their ground disturbance training course is worth 0.8 CEUs.

CEU Credits can be used in lieu of post-secondary education when qualifying to take the Water and Wastewater Operator Level 3 and Level 4 certification exams in Alberta. Applicants to the Operator Level 3 and Operator Level 4 exams are required to have a minimum of 90 CEUs and 180 CEUs respectively, which is equivalent to two and four years of post-secondary education in an applicable field.
