Happy Summer Everyone!!! San Antonio has been extremely hot and somewhat humid this year based on the excessive spring showers. I hope as everyone closes out FY16, you have enjoyed some vacation and family time to rest and gear up for the new academic year.

I extend a huge thank you to Suzette Senn and the Annual Conference Committee for the intense and exciting energy that has been put into the 34th CCBO Annual International Conference, September 24 – 27, 2016, in Orlando, Florida. This year’s educational sessions span across various areas the business officer oversees daily. Education tracks are centered on Information Technology, Student Support Services, Budgeting and Financial Management, and Facilities Management. Chief Business Officers, please invite your team and colleagues to come and experience the wealth of knowledge from the array of sessions, as well as expand their networks and resources to aid them in their future day to day experiences.

Also, CCBO offers a Leadership Academy, the only education program designed specifically for business officers at community and technical colleges. The Leadership Academy offers specialized professional development education for business officers aspiring to become chief business officers. Embrace succession planning and institutional sustainability through investing in your next leaders by sending your upcoming business officers to the Leadership Academy, which starts September 24, 2016. Full registration also includes two consecutive annual conferences. The deadline to register is September 9th.
