I have been with the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS^® (NSAR) since 2004. I started as the director of finance and have been CEO since 2011. I joined CSAE to learn more about managing a non-profit association and to gain insights into what others are doing. CSAE is a fantastic way to share information and best practices with other like-minded executives and keep abreast of emerging trends. About three years ago, we started to apply for the CSAE awards as a way of showcasing some of our best practices and a way to learn from others. We have received several awards in the areas of government relations, marketing and strategic focus, and I feel that this has given all of us at NSAR a great sense of pride. I enjoy the CSAE conference and the magazine. I send my staff to the conferences and feel this has helped them grow and gain valuable contacts throughout the industry.
