After careful consideration and vetting by the Leadership Selection Committee, the AACS Board of Directors approved the appointment of Michael L. Halmon, MBA, President of the American Institute of Beauty, Inc. and Neal Heller, ESQ, CEO and President of the Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers to fill open two-year terms. These appointments bring the board of directors back up to a complete board of 13. To learn more about these newly appointed board members, click here.

AACS is pleased to announce its 2016-2017 Slate of AACS Directors for the upcoming election.
There are currently four (4) school seats open for election this year. These are for a three-year term. There is currently one (1) associate seat open for election this year. This is for a two-year term.

The second full week of September finds two state legislatures in regular session, Michigan and New Jersey, and two state legislatures in special session, Hawaii and Tennessee.

The scholarship competition invites students and licensed hairstylists (including beauty school educators) to apply for "Basic" and "Advanced" scholarships. Basic scholarships include up to $10,000 in tuition assistance while Advanced scholarships provide a five-day learning opportunity, including travel expenses up to $5,000, at a Sassoon Academy in North America.
