Government Relations

AACS to Provide FSA Conference Updates to Keep You in the Loop
Several Government Relations Committee representatives will attend the U.S. Department of Education 2015 FSA Training Conference for Financial Aid Professionals December 1-4, 2015. The FSA Conference is the largest training program in the U.S. serving the financial aid community and ultimately the students and families seeking an education beyond high school, according to the U.S. Department of Education. We will provide members with daily updates on key takeaways. Stay tuned. Visit aacsaction.org and view AACS videos beginning December 1, 2015.

Thursday November 19 represented a pivotal moment for AACS with not only Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander, but with many on Capitol Hill as well.

Why, because AACS (both in Washington and you through the AACSAction.org website), the PBA (both here in Washington and through a coordinated advocacy campaign with their membership), and Champions of the Beauty and Wellness Industry delivered a unified message that our industry will be significantly harmed without a delay in implementation of the Gainful Employment regulations.

Beauty Change Lives

Words of Thanksgiving from a BCL Scholarship Recipient
In the spirit of "Thanksgiving," we’re sharing a warm note of gratitude from Vanessa Li, a Spring 2015 Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship recipient. Vanessa wrote, "Thank you so much for sending me to the Sassoon course. It was exactly what I needed to boost my skill and confidence. Since the class, I’ve felt 100% more comfortable executing my haircut in the salon, and my work has improved so much. Aloha and Mahalo!! – Vanessa"

We’re so grateful to be helping change the lives of beauty and wellness professionals and we’re thankful for all who support Beauty Changes Lives. Best wishes for a safe and beautiful Thanksgiving holiday!
