AACS Launches Text Messaging Service
AACS will launch a text-message service in an effort to improve two-way communication and member engagement. AACS asked members through surveys this year, "How would you prefer to receive information from us" and text messaging received an overwhelmingly positive response. Members who provided AACS with their cell phone number will receive a text message this month from either AACS phone numbers: (800) 831-1086 or (480) 281-0431. If you have a question or comment for us, simply hit reply and send us a message. We want to hear from you! To opt-in, please provide AACS your cell phone number. To unsubscribe at any time, reply STOP. Text messaging will be offered in partnership with Associate Member Zipwhip. Thank you Zipwhip for offering AACS and all members a 20% discount on service.

Struggling With Student Enrollments? AACS Can Help!
Register by this Friday and SAVE

You’re not alone—enrollments are down, lead flow is not what it used to be and traditional marketing doesn’t work. The good news is, it can be fixed! There are a handful of schools that continue to thrive and the AACS Annual Convention & Expo will feature the companies that helped these schools succeed. We’ve gathered these top experts together for one weekend to give your admissions and marketing team the boost needed to turn the tide.

1. Turning Strangers into Students is a two-hour Admissions Workshop with marketing strategists Norton|Norris. Learn what makes today’s students different and the inbound marketing techniques to attract and enroll them.

2. Oozle Media has worked with some of the nation's top beauty schools, including the Paul Mitchell schools exclusively for two years. Their session on Generating Leads will give insider tips on how award-winning schools are getting top talent to enroll at their schools.

3. Phone calls are generally the first point of contact from admissions to a lead—are your reps saying the right thing? The Do’s and Don’ts of Admissions Calls, presented by Rob Thatcher, SalesComm, will reveal common mistakes schools make when they’re on the phone with potential students as well as best practices.

Register for the AACS Annual Convention & Expo by September 25 to receive the early bird discount.

Study: Free Snacks is Key to Work Happiness
When it comes to employee perks, few things are as simply satisfying as free food and drinks — which, it turns out, are also just good business. According to a new survey by grocery-delivery service Peapod, companies that provide free food have happier employees compared with those who don't get to chow down on their employer's dime.

While the majority, 56%, of full-time employees are "extremely" or "very" happy with their current job, that number jumps to 67% among those who have access to free food, the survey of more than 1,000 full-time office workers found. Though just 16% of employees said they get free snacks and treats at work. Snacks may even lure employees to new companies: 48% of respondents said that if they were looking for a new job, they would weigh company perks, including availability of snacks, in their decision. Find out how companies do it and what is their return on investment.
