HUGE Day Ahead in Washington
Employing a divide and conquer strategy, your AACS GRC will attempt to be two places at once so that we can provide members with timely updates on both the Senate HELP Committee's Federal Student Loan Risk-sharing hearing and the oral arguments in the APSCU vs. U.S. Department of Education Gainful Employment court proceedings.  Our goal is to provide both written and video updates by the end of the day, so keep an eye out for listserve posts and new information on AACSAction.org!

Watch Live Video - Key Senate Debate of Institutional Risk-sharing
Senate HELP Committee Chairman Alexander introduced three "Proposal and Concepts" white papers seeking public comment on topics including: Accreditation, Consumer Information, and Student Loan Risk-sharing. View copies of AACS’s comprehensive responses to all three white papers on AACSAction.org. Two weeks ago, the HELP Committee held a hearing to discuss the Consumer Information topic, today the Committee intends to focus their interests on student loans and the concept of requiring institutions of higher education to place additional "skin-in-the-game" if the institution is carrying a high level of loan defaults.
