State Updates Connecticut Becomes the 50th State to License Estheticians and Nail Technicians The first week of June finds 19 state legislatures actively meeting, including the legislatures in three states – Connecticut, Louisiana and Nevada – that will adjourn for the year by Friday. As always, AACS will keep you apprised of the latest state legislative developments of interest to member schools. Connecticut’s legislature is poised to pass a biennial budget before adjourning Wednesday that includes language establishing licensure for estheticians, and nail and eyelash technicians. HB 7424 will require licensure applicants to complete at least 600 hours of study for esthetics; 50 hours of study for eyelash technicians, and 100 hours of study for nail technicians. The bill would allow individuals who have continuously practiced esthetics, or nail and eyelash technology in Connecticut for two-years…Click here to read the full update Member Events
