Oregon Votes to Delete Minimum Hour Training Requirements
In Oregon, the Senate passed HB 2314 last week by a vote of 22 to 8. The bill, which has been sent to Governor Kate Brown (D), deletes the state’s minimum hour training requirements for hair design, barbering, esthetics, and nail technology from law. Instead, it will require "schools to teach, and require for graduation from the school, courses that meet minimum hourly training requirement or student proficiency-based training requirement standards set by the commission by rule."
