California Introduces Gainful Employment Inspired Regulation
In California, bills inspired by Federal gainful employment regulations were introduced. AB 1611 would require the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education to establish a standard prohibiting an institution from enrolling new students who are using specified student loans for any program offered by the institution in which fewer than 70 percent of graduates of that program are graduates employed in the field, as redefined by the bill’s provisions.
