Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Despite being visually impaired Ayanna Dickerson took her impassioned plea to support her education and funding to the State bureau for blindness and visual services in Pennsylvania and is on her way to becoming a massage therapist. (Watch her video here) She already has a job working in her field even before she finishes her program at Cortiva Institute. Ayanna is appealing to U.S. Representatives Madeleine Dean and Susan Wild, and U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey to hear her story and learn firsthand how her federal financial assistance has made her dreams a reality. You can encourage your students to record a short, 30 – 60 second video that explains what their education means to them. Learn more about the #DontCutUsOut campaign here.
