It has been widely reported that earlier this week, U.S. House and Senate leaders enrolled the Congressional Review Act resolution, H.J. Res. 76 (116), to overturn the 2019 Borrower Defense to Repayment Rule. We feel strongly that the 2019 rule is a balanced improvement over the 2016 rule and should be allowed to stand. As an association and individual members, we are opposed to this resolution.
