Apprenticeship Supervision Debated in Delaware 

There are 13 state legislatures actively meeting this week, including Maine which adjourned sine die on Wednesday and New York which recessed Wednesday with the ability to reconvene at the discretion of the Speaker of the Assembly or the Senate President.  As always, AACS will keep you apprised of the latest state legislative developments of interest to member schools.

A bill to update Delaware’s cosmetology and barbering Act was introduced last week and was subsequently passed by the House 41 to 0 on June 13.  The measure would allow a licensed cosmetologist with one-year of experience to obtain a master barber license after completing a 35-hour course in shaving.  It would also reduce the experience needed for licensure reciprocity from three years to one year… Click here to read the full update.
