Hair Styling Deregulation Bills Debated in Arizona and Tennessee

The Arizona House Regulatory Affairs Committee voted along party lines 4-3 to report SB 1401. As previously reported, the bill would exempt from licensure “persons who dry, style, arrange, dress, curl, hot iron or shampoo and condition hair if the service does not include the application of reactive chemicals to permanently straighten, curl or alter the structure of the hair.”
