Last Thursday morning, Multnomah County Commissioners voted to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes and "vaping" paraphernalia to minors in Multnomah County. The measure also bars the use of e-cigarettes in most public places.

Read BOMA's testimony supporting House Bill 2546. Executive Director Susan Steward was a member of the committee that drafted HB 2546. Upon passage, e-cigarettes will be included under the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act.

Senate Bill 85 authorizes local governments to implement programs to make loans or facilitate private financing of seismic rehabilitation of multifamily residential dwellings or commercial or industrial buildings by property owners.

BOMA Oregon and the Oregon Chapter of NAIOP are working together to oppose the current version of the City of Portland's energy performance reporting proposal.

Executive Director Susan Steward is the co-chair of the Tree Code Advisory Committee. This group meets monthly to help ensure a successful transition to the City's new tree code regulations.

BOMA Oregon is very concerned regarding the proposed Parks SDC increases. Currently, the SDC for an office in the central city is $1.09 per square foot. If the City Council approves Portland Parks & Recreations proposal, the new fee will be $2.37 per square foot.

Join us for a discussion of what sub-metering is and how you can employ it on your next project. This session will cover codes, standards and market conditions influencing the need for sub meters. We will discuss how metering data can be expressed through visual dashboards and identify efficient and space saving metering options, i.e. replacing multiple socket meters with High-Density metering. It also will explain cost-saving and revenue-generating opportunities via building energy management.
