TriMet’s Vault Lid Replacement (VLR)* construction project began last week. This week, auto travel lanes on Southwest Yamhill will be shut down one block at a time in order to replace the old vault lids. The work is averaging one-to-two days per block and is on schedule to conclude by early May.

This week, the project will move east on Southwest Yamhill, from 9th Avenue to about 6th Avenue. Once the work on Yamhill is complete, the project will continue on Southwest Morrison, moving West from 1st Avenue to 11th Avenue.

Pedestrian throughways will remain open at all times. Local access will be maintained for driveways as well as parking garages, lanes and lots. TriMet created a banner and signage to convey that businesses and sidewalks are open during construction.
