This free, voluntary program empowers property owners—residential landlords, commercial operators, and municipalities alike—to understand their building’s energy performance and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and lead on sustainability. Whether you're aiming to cut energy costs, improve tenant comfort, or prepare for evolving regulations, Building Benchmark BC gives you the tools and insights to take action.
Why join?
• Track your building’s energy use and GHG emissions with ease
• Receive personalized reports to pinpoint efficiency upgrades • Demonstrate sustainability leadership to tenants, clients, and investors • Stay ahead of future regulations and market expectations Now in its fifth year, the program supports over 1,900 buildings across BC—spanning 40+ property types and 15 million m² of floor space. Curious about impact? The 2024 Annual Report features insights and deep-retrofit case studies from participants across the province. The report also advocates for the implementation of mandatory benchmarking for large commercial buildings in B.C.
