In this video, BOMA BC President Damian Stathonikos shares the vision behind the Decarb Accelerator program and its long-term goals. You'll also hear from several BOMA members about the real impact the program has had on their buildings and decarbonization efforts.

Featuring BOMA BC members (in order):

• Fito Garcia, Operations & Building Systems Lead, Low Tide Properties
• Benson Lin, Director, ESG and EHS, Peterson Group

Government Affairs

Last week, BOMA BC presented to BC's Select Standing Committee on Finance to share our industry's priorities for Budget 2026.

As our industry continues to improve building efficiency, confront broader market economic headwinds, and address crime and safety concerns in the downtown core, BOMA BC shared key priorities regarding decarbonization, economic development, and downtown safety and vibrancy.

  • We called for expanded retrofit incentives and financing tools like C-PACE, plus provincial leadership through BOMA BEST certification.
  • To support small businesses, we urged reducing property taxes under Provincial jurisdiction, as done in 2020.
  • And to address rising crime and office vacancies, we recommended safety grants, bail reform advocacy, and support for office-to-residential conversions.

BOMA BC is in regular contact with the Province and will continue to advocate for our members' interests.
