The future of in-person events

It's been a long time since BOMA has been able to host members at an in-person event. Here's a snapshot of what we're planning, and ideas for the future. If BC's Restart program continues as planned, we could potentially have our first in-person event in July. We're in the process of surveying property managers to ensure there is enough demand for an event next month.

As for golf, we are relatively certain that some type of event will take place on Aug. 19. We are awaiting direction from Northview Golf and Country Club on whether a shotgun-style event is possible, where everyone tees off at the same time. If the golf course won't accommodate a shotgun event, teams would tee off every 10 minutes. We'll update the website event listing and send out an email with information as soon as we hear back from Northview.

By September, we're hoping for business as usual. To kick off this milestone, we're throwing a welcome back harbour cruise on Sept.16! Into the fall, expect to receive luncheon keynote and seminar invitations again. Those events could look a bit different than in the past to uphold health and safety best practices. You may also see a video camera set up to accommodate hybrid events, where access to videos is available for those who weren't able to attend.

If you receive a survey asking for your opinion on future events, please help by providing your feedback.

No matter what the future of in-person events looks like, the staff at BOMA will be excited to see you!
