Increased handwashing due to COVID-19 sanitation protocols can also mean an increase in water use and the associated costs for businesses and institutions during an already challenging time. The Capital Regional District (CRD) is launching a new program where they will come to any business in Greater Victoria and assess the hand wash faucets to see if they’re using water efficiently. If the taps are not already flowing at less than two litres per minute (0.5 gallons per minute) they can switch the aerator to maximize water efficiency — all for free.
