The Canadian Food Inspection Agency surveillance program has been monitoring Japanese beetle traps in the Lower Mainland this summer. Traps are in place from Hope to Whistler to detect their presence, with a high concentration of traps in the City of Vancouver.

As part of the Japanese Beetle Eradication Program, foliage of susceptible plants in and around David Lam Park have been treated with a biological control product. Applicators have now finished treatment on public and private lands. Traps will be surveyed to confirm the effectiveness of the treatment with results being available late October 2020.
