Con Edison’s Demand Management Program is making increased incentives available for improvements that will reduce demand during summer, on-peak hours.
Below is a snapshot of what’s available, and if you like what you see, more information is available through the Con Edison Green Team at 1-877-870- 6118 or by visiting coned.com/energyefficiency.com.
Projects and their increased incentives are:
-Thermal Storage: $600 per kW to $2,600 per kW
-Battery Storage: $600 per kW to $2,100 per kW
-DR Enablement: $200 per kW to $800 per kW
-Controls/HVAC/Process Efficiency: $0.16 per kWh to $0.16 kWh $1,250 per kW
-Lighting: $0.16 per kWh to $0.16 per kWh $800 per kW
For projects involving Fuel Switching for non-electric AC, where steam incentives are currently available in select locations, the new offering includes $500 to $1,000 per kW depending on the equipment. Con Edison has also noted that incentives will be offered for installing steam or natural gas AC instead of electrical AC.
![]() NYSERDA incentives for CHP projects remain unchanged and reach a maximum of $1.5 million. Please consult the NYSERDA PON 2568 Catalog for details and note that each pre-approved system, ranging from 50kW to 1.3 MW, is assigned a specific incentive, which can be found in that catalog.
Large Scale Projects
Bonus incentives for projects of 500 kW are available from a maximum bonus pool of $10 million using a first-installed, first-paid basis. CHP measures do not qualify. Projects from 500kW to 1 MW can qualify for an additional 10 percent of kW incentive and those over 1 MW qualify for 15 percent of the kW incentive.
Governing Rules
• Incentives are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
• Projects must be installed and operational by June 1, 2016; for CHP projects, the compliance date is May 1, 2016
• Non CHP Projects:
-must have a combined peak demand reduction of 50kW or greater
-incentives are capped at 50 percent of the project cost, plus large project bonus
-incentives described above are under review and subject to approval by the New York State Department of Public Service
