The Government Relations Committee met recently and have directed staff to include additional options for voluntary contributions to the Builders Association Political Action Committee Fund. The Builders Association needs to take a more proactive part in legislation. "It’s one thing to write letters for and against certain legislation, but we need to start showing our support to those legislators that listen to our position and support us," said Steve Olson, Chairman of the Government Relations Committee. "With new members volunteering to get involved by working on this committee and more contractors asking how they can help, I feel  that  the Builders Association will have more of an impact than in the past, said Executive Director Dan McLaughlin. In addition the committee discussed other avenues for raising money for the PAC fund and new events that bring BA members closer to our legislators with the opportunity to express our opinions in person. Please watch for announcements and requests for your assistance. The more members that get involved the more we can accomplish.
