Scholarship Applications Now Open
BCEA's annual scholarship applications are now open!

All children and grandchildren of BCEA members are eligible to apply. Download the form at the link below, fill it out, and send it back to beth@bcea.bc.ca by June 30th to be considered. Winners are determined by August 2025.
Basic Electricity Course – Online
Registration for our online Basic Electricity Course is now live. This course is a great primer for anyone new to the industry or who wants a refresher on the more basic aspects of the supply chain industry. The cost is $299 GST for members and $399 GST for non-members. Upon registration, you can complete the course at your own pace.

Westbank First Nation and Innergex Announce Signing of Electricity Purchase Agreement with BC Hydro for the K2 Wind Project
Westbank First Nation and Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. announced the signing of a 30-year electricity purchase agreement with BC Hydro for the electricity to be generated by the K2 wind project (160 MW) in the Pennask Mountain area, an initiative that represents an exciting opportunity for the communities involved.

Faster isn't always better. Slow-charging EVs could have big benefits
Level 2 charging for electric vehicls is more expensive and logistically difficult for individual  owners, while the aging electrical grid in some communities may not be able to handle too much Level 2 charging at once.
