As expected, Austin City Council on Thursday gave its approval to put the $720 million transportation bond package championed by Mayor Steve Adler on the November ballot. Still, the final 7-3-1 vote for the package, which proponents say is designed to improve mobility on key Austin road corridors, showed apprehension among some Council members who were displeased with how the package was put together.

The need to boost water unit efficiency at data centers is driving some companies to open up locations near water sources and cooler climates. Menlo Park, California-based Facebook, for example, began operations at its overseas data center in Lulea, Sweden in 2013 near the Arctic Circle. Mountain View, California-based Google operates a total of 15 data centers with four located in northern Europe.

In July 2015, both Cuba and the U.S. re-opened embassies in Havana and Washington, DC, marking the establishment of official relations.
