Happy New Year, ASRWWA members. Our newly formed Board of Directors is excited about the new and exciting opportunities for ASRWWA in 2022. Official Board Members were elected and seated.

Your New ASRWWA Board Members are as follows:

  • President: Marty Cormier, Winsted Water Works
  • Vice-President: Pete Kasacek, Coventry Housing Authority
  • Treasurer: Shelby Jackson, Wallingford Water
  • Secretary: Ted Donoghue, Litchfield WPCA
  • Board Member: Robert Wittenzellner, Whitewater LLC.

The newly elected board has revised the bylaws to reflect that ASRWWA is now a one-state association. ASRWWA will focus our operations within the state of Connecticut and Rhode Island will be creating its own state association. During this transition time, we will continue to support all members in both states.

ASRWWA hosted the annual water tasting event in December at the Little Red Barn Brewery in Winsted, CT. The Arnio Drive Water System from Moosup, CT was selected as the Best Tasting Water in Connecticut and will be representing the state at the Great American Water Taste Test (GAWTT). The GAWTT is held in conjunction with the Rural Water Rally hosted by the National Rural Water Association in Washington D.C., on March 28-30, 2022.

ASRWWA has also made exciting additions to our talented team of staff members, recruiting Bob Horn as the new Water Circuit Rider. Bob previously worked at the Lenox Water Company. Mike Hage has also been added to the team to oversee the EPA Training and Technical Assistance Program. Mr. Hage recently retired from the CT DPH and brings enormous expertise to this much needed program for our members. Jigar Patel will continue to support our members as well.

As we focus on strengthen the Association and generate revenue along with the demand for programs, support, and trainings for our members, it was decided to close the physical office site in Suffield, CT.

Our new mailing address is:
Atlantic States Rural Water & Wastewater Association
45 Salem Turnpike #1077
Norwich, CT 06360

The phone number and email address for the administrative office and to reach ASRWWA water and wastewater experts will stay the same.

Email: asrwwa@asrwwa.org
Phone: 860-370-5759

With our new staff members in place, they will be hitting the road to promote the essential services that ASRWWA has historically provided to its members. We encourage you to call or email to set up an appointment for a visit to your facility to discuss any support or projects you need assistance on.

Finally, it is renewal time for our members. We are committed to bring back the best ASRWWA has offered along with creating new and exciting trainings and events to help support all our members.

Please help us accomplish our goals as a board by renewing your membership and sharing this email with any peers that may want to join and reap the benefits of ASRWWA membership.

Cheers!
