AATA Members! Join us Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 6 - 8pm ET! This Pride Month, AATA Members are invited to an evening of creative exploration, meaningful dialogue, and community connection — held in a space intentionally designed to honor and affirm the full complexity of queer identity and experience. The event will be led by AATA Member Sara Blevins-Ranes, MA, ATR-BC, LPCC, LPC, LPAT (they/them) and AATA Board Secretary Michael Galarraga, MS, LPC, ATR-BC, CSAC, CSOTP (he/him). The presenters will use physical or digital collage and zine-making to explore identity, intersectionality, belonging, and resilience. Participants will create personal visual narratives rooted in their own lived experiences, sources of strength, and hopes for the future.
If you're a Student or New Professional Member of AATA and are considering attending our annual conferences in Charlotte or virtually, apply for a scholarship! AATA's scholarships are designed to help Student Members and New Professionals attend the conferences. We're looking for detail-oriented, tech-savvy students who work well on a small team and are committed to AATA's mission and values. This position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week on a flexible, fully remote schedule and may include opportunities to attend AATA's annual conference. Responsibilities include member services, newsletter and blog content, graphic design, virtual event support, and Online Learning Academy maintenance. This position does not offer academic credit. The Irene Rosner David Medical Art Therapy Scholarship is awarded annually through AATA to Student Members pursuing work in medical art therapy. It is named for Irene Rosner David, one of the true pioneers of the discipline and a retired clinician, educator, and longtime AATA leader who spent more than four decades helping shape medical art therapy before most of the profession recognized it as one. We recently had the privilege of speaking with her directly about her career, the scholarship, and why investing in the next generation of medical art therapists matters so deeply to her.
