By Liz Hlavek, AATA2026 Conference Committee Chair On behalf of the Conference Committee, we are excited to bring the AATA Annual Conference to Charlotte, North Carolina, this fall! The Conference brings the art therapy community together for learning, art-making, and connection with art therapists, students, and related mental health professionals from around the world. The AATA2026 in-person conference will be held in Charlotte, October 14–17, 2026. We expect 300 presenters, each sharing their expertise and research—and more networking opportunities, including mini-workshops at the Open Art Studio and Shared Interest Group (SIG) discussions. I am personally looking forward to experiencing Charlotte’s thriving arts scene, diverse culinary options, and modern charm with our conference attendees! In addition, the AATA2026 virtual conference will be held November 14–15, 2026. Join us live to participate in the discussions, or watch the session recordings at your own pace. This year’s Ethics Continuing Education Series examines what it means to practice ethically, drawing on positive psychology, ethical theory, and art therapy values to build frameworks that are both principled and adaptive. With the ATCB Renewal and Recertification Period for 2026 ending in early July, earn up to 6 CE Credits with AATA’s 2026 Ethics Series. Each session focuses on a distinct dimension of ethical competence: → Strengths-based approaches to ethical decision-making, → Navigating sociopolitical dynamics in the therapeutic relationship → Sustaining professional responsibility through unexpected absence and transition Individual sessions are $55 for AATA Members or $80 for non-members, or register for the full 6 CE Credit bundle ($138 for Members/$210 for non-members).
