Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines, PHTA Vice President of Partnerships & Development, was honored to be invited to the Skyview YMCA in North Las Vegas and present a Step Into Swim check for $7,000, to put towards the organization's swim lesson program. Joseph and Joey Vassallo of Paragon Pools and Float Like A Duck Water Safety Program were also present.
  
GENESIS® is pleased to announce its new Design Faculty Advisor, Paul John Boulifard. Boulifard, who is an Architect and LEED AP, has been a GENESIS® instructor for over two years and has taught a wide range of design courses both virtually and in-person. As the Architecture Faculty Advisor, Boulifard will be part of the GENESIS® design advisory team and is responsible for strategic contribution, curriculum development, content quality assurance, and faculty recruitment.

STANDARDS AND CODES

PHTA is inviting public review and comments on revisions to the new PHTA/ICC-2 Standard for Public Pool and Spa Operations and Maintenance. Public review is an important part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards consensus development process. This second round is a 30-day public review, and comments are limited to the revisions printed in the November 11, 2022 edition of the ANSI newsletter, Standards Action.

ADVOCACY
PHTA is pleased to host a virtual briefing on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. ET. to review results of the election and discuss how this may impact the pool and spa industry heading into 2023, as well as the 118th Congress which begins in January. The briefing will feature PHTA’s Federal Policy and Government Relations team, D.C. Legislative and Regulatory Services, Inc. (DCLRS). The briefing will cover the results of the election, potential impact of industry policy priorities in the next Congress, and highlight PHTA’s ongoing work to position the pool and spa industry for success in the next Congress. Dec. 19 is the deadline to submit comments to the DOE regarding the recent Federal Register notification of data Availability (NODA) pertaining to energy conservation standards for miscellaneous gas products. Members might have interest in this rulemaking as it includes "outdoor decorative hearth products (which includes outdoor decorative fireplaces, fire pits, fire bowls, fire columns, and fire tables)..." Parties interested in joining PHTA comments should contact Justin Wiley at jwiley@phta.org as soon as possible.
