The deadline for nominating a public health official or department for the Dr. R. Neil Lowry Grant is fast approaching! The Department of Energy (DOE) issued a final rule pertaining to test procedures for electric motors which mentions dedicated purpose pool pump motors (see page 254 of notice). DOE is also amending provisions pertaining to certification testing and the determination of represented values for electric motors other than dedicated purpose pool pump motors and relocating such provisions consistent with the location of the certification requirements for other covered products and equipment. The effective date of this rule is 30 days after the final rule has been published and mandatory product testing starts 180 days after.

The Department of Energy (DOE) issued a final rule amending certification provisions for dedicated purpose pool pumps (see page 90 of notice). This rule sets forth revised reporting guidance and amends the certification and reporting provisions.
