PHTA UPDATES
PHTA is pleased to announce the formation of The Champions Board, a distinguished group of athletes, pool industry professionals, and philanthropists who are committed to drowning prevention. The Champions Board will be the philanthropic arm of PHTA, responsible for raising awareness and funds to make a difference across the country. The board will work closely with PHTA's Step Into Swim initiative, which has the goal of creating 1 million more swimmers—particularly targeting children in underserved areas. 1. Employee morale: What better way to recognize your team than by telling them their project won an international award? 2. Increase visibility: Award winners are honored during the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo in November. They are also featured on the PHTA website, press releases, social media, and industry trade publications. 3. Marketing: Winners receive a marketing toolkit with customizable press releases, logos, and social media posts to help market your award-winning work and earn invaluable press coverage. This achievement can earn you future customers. 4. Award-winning business: How many companies can claim they are an award-winning business? Your chances of being one of them are greater when you submit a project to our Awards of Excellence. 5. Industry recognition: Be recognized amongst your peers for your inspiring project.
PHTA's Step Into Swim podcast is for anyone who has ever been inspired by a swimmer. It’s for people who are passionate about swimming (swimming enthusiasts) and all the benefits that come from time spent in the water. We’re going to share stories about how swimming has saved, shaped, and changed lives and why drowning prevention is so important. Interested in hearing from two Olympians? Check out Episode 1, featuring Rowdy Gaines and Cammile Adams. You can listen directly on the PHTA website or find us on Spotify, Google Podcasts, or Apple Podcasts.
PHTA's volunteer-led efforts are essential to the pool and hot tub industry! Looking through a magazine of pools, it is easy to find well-conceived plans that failed to unify the design with proper material and color selections. Color is one of our basic means of communication and it influences our emotions, so it must be understood and controlled. D231: Color Theory and Its Application introduces the basic dynamics of color, its principles, fundamentals, its psychology, and how to apply the science to project design. Class begins June 8.
It's confirmed! GENESIS® and PHTA will be teaching 11 pre-conference schools as part of the PSP/Deck Expo:
We're looking forward to seeing our members in-person again in Dallas! The World Aquatic Health Conference is returning in-person this fall! PHTA is excited to announce that this year's keynote speaker will be 23-time Paralympic medalist Jessica Long. At just 18 months old, Jessica’s legs were amputated below the knee due to a rare bone disorder called fibular hemimelia, but her adopted family would not let her physical differences limit her potential. Now, as one of America's most decorated champions, her work focuses on winning in the water and inspiring others outside the pool. Other exciting things in store at WAHC include sessions on leadership skills, CPR training, disinfection for healthier swimming, aquatic facility management, and ISPSC reviews.
