PHTA has been closely monitoring legislation at the state and federal levels that may impact COVID liability exposure for your business. A majority of these bills are being considered to protect businesses, health care providers, schools, and government entities from lawsuits brought as a result of the pandemic. Typically, state legislation requires gross negligence on the part of the defendant for a lawsuit to move forward. The length of time a lawsuit can be initiated is also included in many state bills.
