Nationwide Marketing Group Members Pack 1 Million Meals to Support No Child Hungry

APRO member and annual Legislative Conference sponsor, Nationwide Marketing Group, celebrated a historic milestone in November, packing the 1,000,000th meal as part of the organization’s international give-back initiative with No Child Hungry.

Mississippi Business Opens Lobby to the Dogs

Recently, a Mississippi hotel teamed up with a local shelter allowing them to help find animals new homes from their hotel lobby.

Since October 2018, Home 2 Suites in Biloxi, Mississippi – which caters to extended-stay guests – has hosted adoptable shelter dogs from the Humane Society of South Mississippi in Gulfport. So far, 33 guests have gone home with one of the hotel's "Fostering Hope" dogs, who occupy a large kennel in the lobby.

The program was the brainchild of Teresa Johnston, the hotel's sales director. Once Bianca Janik, the shelter's relations manager, researched the hotel, she concluded it was an "ideal set-up" for a long-term foster program.

"Johnston thought they needed to set their hotel apart and this was it," Janik said. "She wanted to have the business more involved with the community. It was a very out-of-the-box way to find our animals new homes, so we were on board!"
