Prairie Podcast by Alberta One-Call

We talk a lot about different aspects of damage prevention. Well actually, we write a lot about them. We create booklets and textbooks, and project binders, and lots and lots of PowerPoint slides. We give presentations and workshops, and yes there are some excellent videos.

For the first time in Canada, we’re just “talking” about damage prevention. Talking in the format of a podcast.

We’re thrilled to introduce Prairie Podcast by Alberta One-Call.

It’s a new audio podcast available to anyone who wants to learn more about safety, damage prevention and legislation.

Alberta One-Call president Mike Sullivan hosts and shares stories that will stick and keep safety at the forefront of people’s minds.

There’s a reason podcasts are becoming so popular – they work
According to Apple, there are now 2 million podcasts worldwide. Various sources estimate the number of blogs worldwide is half a billion. It’s becoming increasingly evident people are bombarded by written information all day, every day. Information, delivered by audio format, weaves nicely into a multitasking scenario for listeners. It’s information on-demand that doesn’t require you to stop everything else you’re doing – it joins you in your day-to-day routines.

Safety SHOULD be part of a day-to-day routine
At the same time, there are scientific studies that repeatedly show people understand and remember non-statistical information they hear as opposed to read.

And of those 2 million podcasts worldwide (which is twice the number this time last year so podcasting has caught on), none offers the unique, local insight, and information Mike and his team will offer on the Prairie Podcast. This audio adventure will be timely, topical and it’s made in the prairies for those working in the prairies. From excavation safety to industry trends, and legal matters. It features interviews with damage prevention experts, Alberta One-Call members and various guest speakers in the industry in a fun and engaging way.

Alberta One-Call has evolved since first supporting members in 1984. The Prairie Podcast is the latest effort in helping educate, inform and lead. Because safety is always a good conversation.
