Hey asset-owner members, quick question!  Do you know where your locate request notifications are being sent to? If you can’t answer that question, it may be time for you to review and possibly update your contact information with Utility Safety Partners.

We have all been in a position where some pertinent information has changed (maybe you moved, updated your phone number, etc.) Remembering the long checklist of places and people that you need to follow up with to update this information can be cumbersome, and without fail something gets forgotten.

For asset-owner members, it is important to keep your company’s contact information up to date, as this information is used to communicate with your organization, including communication about ticket notifications. Forgetting to update the contact information poses a risk that an asset-owner member is not notified correctly of a locate request notification, which can put the infrastructure and excavator at risk. We may also have problems reaching out regarding any issues or notifications of any software changes that would be important information for your company to be aware of.

But what if you are only taking vacation to spend time with family, or running away for a 3-month adventure through Europe? Not a problem!  Making a temporary change in our system is very simple for us to do, as long as we know what information we need to update and when we should revert the changes. An Employee taking some time away from work with no set return date? You guessed it! We would want to update our records accordingly and just need to be made aware of when your company is back to normal operations.

The main goal is to ensure that the information we have in our records is as up to date as possible, and without the help from our asset-owner member this wouldn’t be possible. If at any point there are any changes within your company where it may be necessary for us to be notified, we ask that you reach out to let us know so we can make the appropriate updates, or even just to verify the current information we have so it brings you peace of mind that nothing was missed.
