Utility Safety Partners (USP) is thrilled to recognize two exceptional Alberta students as recipients of its 2025 Scholarship Program. Congratulations Spencer Deprez and Lucas Vining! These remarkable individuals have demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, community involvement, and the promotion of safety – core values that reflect USP’s mission.
USP’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students who are enrolled in accredited post-secondary institutions in Alberta and are pursuing studies in fields closely tied to utility safety. These fields include, but are not limited to, civil and electrical engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental sciences, and skilled trades.
The USP Scholarship is new this year and was announced at USP’s 40th Anniversary and Safety Conference in Banff, February 2024. Beginning in 2025, two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who not only meet the academic criteria but also exhibit a passion for safety, leadership, and community service. By investing in education and training, USP aims to equip future professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to prioritize safety, mitigate risks, and implement innovative solutions.
