Associations Embrace Infographics

We jumped on the infographic bandwagon last year, pulling together information from disparate resources to tell the story of the growing global strength of the AMC model. AMCI used the visual on our website, our brochure at ASAE, signage, and on social channels because we think it conveys clearly the strength and influence of our industry.

With the release of our Financial Impact Study, we went the same route by preparing an infographic that pulls out the key points of the research and presents them in a way that is compelling. It’s available on our website at http://www.amcinstitute.org/?page=numbers and continues to be shared on social channels by us and by other members of the association community.

Recently, Smith Bucklin released results from a survey of senior U.S. association executives that focused on outsourcing as an option to achieving organizational goals. This important research was accompanied by a fantastic infographic that clearly summarized the main findings. You can find it here:

When thinking of putting together an infographic, there are, of course, some best practices. Keeping the design simple, using compelling information that is relevant to your audience, maintaining a logical information flow and employing your visual identity are just a few of the things to keep in mind. And don’t forget to make it easily accessible so that it can be shared.

Speaking of which, if you have an infographic that tells a story important to the AMC community, please let us know. We’d love to see it and to amplify it on our website and social channels!
