Texcare International, most recently scheduled for late November 2021 in Frankfurt, Germany, has been canceled. Messe Frankfurt, with recommendation by the show’s Advisory Council, concluded the success of Texcare International can no longer be guaranteed due to the continued uncertainties regarding the pandemic. Given this reality, it would be impossible to deliver an event that would meet participants’ expectations.

Texcare Asia has also been impacted by the pandemic. Following discussions with the fair’s stakeholders, the organizers of Texcare Asia & China Laundry Expo (TXCA & CLE) made the decision to delay the 2021 edition until December 22–24, 2021, to provide more certainty to participants in their preparation. Taking the government’s guidelines for pandemic containment into account, it was deemed preferable to delay the fair until later in the year to ensure all exhibitors and visitors are able to travel to Shanghai, China.

The Clean Show 22 remains on schedule for summer 2022! The decisions on the Texcare shows will not directly influence the current scheduling of the Clean Show in 2022. The 2022 Clean Show will take place July 30 – August 2 in Atlanta, Georgia. With 85% of the projected floor plan sold, exhibitor optimism for next summer is high.

The Texcare Brand will further support Clean Show 22, as there are no plans to host a major event in Europe next year.

To provide an enjoyable, safe experience at IMPACT 2021, we ask in-person attendees to agree to conference COVID protocols.

Of course, we are also working to provide IMPACT education to anyone not comfortable with traveling, and are offering all IMPACT sessions as synchronous learning opportunities November 9-12. Charles Ken Dowdy, VP of Sales for Ecolab, passed away on July 24, 2021, after a courageous fight. He was a great leader, mentor, coach and friend to so many in the commercial laundry market and personal life.

Hurricane Ida devastated the state of Louisiana with state-wide damage unseen since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the state. Many customers of Encompass suffered damage to their places of work and homes. One of Encompass' key partners in the state of Louisiana is Ochsner Health. The team at Oschner saw several of their hospitals suffer significant damage as a consequence of Ida’s wrath. Four of Oshner’s leaders lost everything, including their homes, in the hurricane.

When Encompass heard of the devastation experienced by customers and friends, they moved to immediate action. Encompass arranged for a truckload of scrubs and apparel to be delivered to those hurt most by the devastation in Louisiana. According to the Encompass mission statement: “We believe that every patient, resident, caregiver and family member should feel safe and comfortable in today’s healthcare environments,” and at Encompass, they believe in living their mission statement.

Following Hurricane Ida, which made landfall in Southeast Louisiana on Sunday, August 29, Milnor is grateful to report thier facilities are in good shape. The factory sustained very minor damage, including a few fences knocked down. Milnor initiated thier business continuity plan on Monday, August 30, and the computer systems, email and phone system have been operational during the storm and continue to operate at this time.

As of September 1, they were still waiting on water and electricity to return to service, but anticipated parts order fulfillment to resume shortly, as they were actively working with logistic companies to resume shipments of orders.
