Mark Mann has been selected by the ALM Board to step in for the newly-vacated director post. Mann is the Vice President USA Business Unit for MIP Inc.

Mann has been a regular participant in ALM conferences and events for many years, including introducing speakers at the 2020 IMPACT Conference, as well as acting as host for the 2020 IMPACT evening event, single-handedly, due to COVID restrictions preventing the Canadian MIP Inc. contingent from attending.

“One significant learning for me from the last 17 months is that the world has changed in ways that required us all to change our behaviors,” said Mann. “From the way products are made, delivered and even processed, changes are real and there will be more. I am looking forward to working with and learning from my ALM collegues, ALM members and our members customers’ to continue to elevate best practices by getting in front of the changes to come.”

We certainly hope to see you in person in Greenville, but given the success and positive response from the 2020 IMPACT Hybrid, we are also offering a virtual option for those who can't join us in person. The 2021 IMPACT Conference will be Wednesday through Friday, November 3-5, in Greenville, South Carolina, and virtual attendees will have access to the livestream and chat with the speakers the following week, November 9-12.

This year, we are also offering a combo registration! When one employee purchases an in-person registration, other company employees may register at a discounted rate for virtual access.

It is with deep sorrow that G.A. Braun announced the sudden and unexpected passing of Jim (JC) Corrigan on May 23, 2021, of cardiac arrest. He was a team member of G.A. Braun for over 22 years where JC held the position VP of sales, US/Canada, and played a major role in much of Braun’s success and growth the during last two decades. Prior to coming on board with G.A. Braun, JC held a sales position with Senking/ELX and was responsible for many of their successful installations in the U.S. and Canada. Jim was an ambassador and promoter of the laundry industry, considered a dear friend by many in our industry and well-respected by many more. Jim’s loving family includes his wife Penny, his daughters Stephanie (Tim) Darden and Alex (Darin) Bjork, and grandchildren Roselyn, Denver, Dani and Dutch.

Jim had a passion for travel, and good food and wine. He spent his free time perfecting his aim at the gun range, cooking with his wife, and making arrangements to see his daughters and play with his grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and made everyone he met feel important and valued. He would know everything about you by the time he finished talking with you … a true gift. He was the glue that held everything together — whether it was with family, friends or work, he was there for you. He will be missed and never forgotten as he touched us all and made us better people because we knew him.

UNX is excited to welcome James Torres to the team. James was exposed to the industry at a young age, when he started working with his father who owned his own business as a laundry and dryer technician. Since the days of working alongside his father, James has added almost 20 years to his experience on the chemical side of the industry and will now be serving UNX customers on the west coast. On his days off, James spends time with his family and getting ready for their Sunday BBQs.  Please join us in welcoming James to the team!
