Scholarship applications for the Laundry & Linen College are due today, Tuesday, January 15! Through the generosity of ALM's Allied Trade Members, laundry and linen professionals are eligible to apply for a scholarship to cover tuition to the Laundry & Linen College. The scholarships cover one term, in either spring or fall, of the school in full. The scholarship does not cover transportation, meals or lodging.

Beginning this year, the timeline for submitting accident and injury logs (form 300A) changes from July 1 to March 2. Meaning, employers must submit their 2018 300A log by Saturday, March 2, 2019. We first announced this in the Fall 2016 issue of fresh Magazine, and OSHA has it in the last line of their final rule.

Westport Linen Services, located in Baton Rouge, La., has acquired Associated Laundry Services in New Orleans, and the healthcare division of Louisiana Commercial Laundry in Lafayette, La. Westport’s market now spans west to Houston, Texas; east to Mobile, Ala.; and into Northern Louisiana and Mississippi. These acquisitions give Westport Linen four processing plants to serve the healthcare linen markets.
