the Young Architect Award is given to "individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession in an early stage of their architectural career." Shelby was nominated by Mark Levine, AIA (former AIA Georgia President) as he has demonstrated great leadership both regionally and nationally – from spearheading the AIA Atlanta Youth Architecture Fair back in 2006, to serving as SAR YAF Director, to co-chairing the tours committee for the 2015 National Convention. Congratulations Shelby!

From Howard Wertheimer, FAIA (2014-2015 Fellowship Committee Chair) - The State of Georgia has many wonderfully talented and accomplished architects. Over the past several years, many of our colleagues have successfully pursued Fellowship. AIA Georgia has a Fellowship Committee that is tasked with identifying, mentoring and advising potential candidates in the successful pursuit of Fellowship. One of the challenges we have is identifying interested and qualified candidates from across the state to improve our geographic and cultural diversity. Interested in pursuing fellowship? Let us know and we will add you to the watch list for the 2016 Fellowship Workshop.

We are truly excited to welcome a new way to interact with AIA Georgia and its programming. We understand the difficulty many of our members have making it to the events we host in different parts of the State. Podcasting allows us to record and make readily available meetings, events and hopefully CEUs. A recent addition from Ryan Taylor, AIA on Building Codes has received great feedback! We hope you take moment to see our current options and check back with us for more content! Available on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn and SoundCloud.
