Recently there have been some questions as to whether the State Board accepts AIA transcripts. The Professional Licensing Board still accepts official AIA transcripts; however, if a licensee is sending the transcripts to satisfy a continuing education audit, he or she must also submit the audit reporting form. AIA Georgia and AIA Atlanta will post the form to our websites.

The winners of the Atlanta Bridgescape Competition were announced at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention. The urban design challenge sought proposals for creative interventions at two existing freeway overpasses in the city's midtown and downtown districts, with a referential budget of $3 million per bridge. A panel of industry experts chose the winners from a group of five finalists.

This year the Architectural Design Center in partnership with AIA Georgia, AIA Atlanta and Georgia Tech Archive will host an exhibit centered around the ever-expanding palimpsest of history that is Peachtree Street. The idea of "usable history" is very much at play here as hopes of an expanded archive of significant architecture and other design documents and objects recording the culture and history of architecture and related fields in Georgia will grow.
